Have you ever wished that you could swim with wild dolphins?

Dolphin Tour

At Kizimkazi, which is just 10 miles away from our lodge, your wishes could come true. This is certainly a holiday highlight and is not to be missed. Every morning and afternoon you can go out with a local motorboat to see a swarm of around 15 - 20 dolphins.

Jozani Forest Tour/Jozani Sea Turtle Sanctury/Mangrove Swamps

On this tour the first stop is the Zanzibarian Rain Forest, Jozani, which is home to a very friendly and funny creature known as the Red Monkey, which is endemic to Zanzibar.
Next you will visit Jozani Sea Turtle Sanctuary, where ailing turtles are nursed back to health and then released back into the ocean. The final stop is a trip through the mangrove swamps, an unusual and beautiful saline forest that grows along the coastline.

Zala Park/Bird Watching

Zala Park, which is located in Kitogani, is the home of many endangered species found in Zanzibar. Mohammed, the keeper of the garden, will explain to you how the environment has been especially created to provide the correct habitats for pythons, lizards, crabs, turtles, diks (tiny gazelles) and hyraxes (rock rabbits). Their populations are decreasing in the wild as they are often eaten by locals, usually out of fear or for religious reasons. At Zala Park they can live in peace.
You can then take a 15 minute walk from Zala Park, through the mellow, tropical and heavenly scented woodlands, until you reach the shoreline. From here you will take a boat to an island, half an hour away, and see an astonishing variety of bird life. It feels like heaven on earth as they fly over your head, close enough for you to reach out and touch them.

Spice Tour

Since Zanzibar is famous for its spices this tour is a must. You shall learn about the spices and see how they are grown, many of which you will be familiar with from your kitchen spice rack. After this tour enjoy an amazing and traditional Zanzibarian meal, full of flavour and cooked in an open wood fire.... Yummy!

Stone Town

Visit the famous capital of Zanzibar on a cultural tour, which includes a trip to the Slave Market and the House of Wonders. Inhale the scents of fresh vegetables, fish and spices in the old part of town and finish your day at Forodhani Garden, where you will experience the most delicious Zanzibarian dishes imaginable.

Kite Surfing

The south-east coast of Zanzibar is a perfect kite surfing destination due to the perfect wind conditions found there eight months a year, as well as the shallow water, lagoons and white sandy beaches. No wonder it´s a world famous location for kite surfing.

Diving/Snorkeling

Zanzibar offers amazing sites for diving and snorkelling, and plenty of opportunities for a great adventure. The best places for diving are in the north, and also try the reefs of the sister island, Pemba. The temperature of water ranges from 25°C to 29 C and the visibility is 15m to 60m.

North Coast Tour

Take this opportunity to experience the lush vegetation of the countryside and visit Nungwi village. You will go on a guided tour and then take a walk along the beautiful beach, where you will enjoy lunch at one of the popular restaurants. Afterwards, you are free to spend some time sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling.

Prison Island

Just off the coast, near Stone Town, this island is an important place to learn about the history of Zanzibar. The island was previously owned by an Arab, and he used it to house his rebellious slaves. It is now home to a tortoise sanctuary, prison ruins and a hotel.

Chumbe Island Coral Park

Lots of activities are waiting for you on and around Chumbe Island. Explore some of the most beautiful scenery you have ever seen, such as the coral reef sanctuary and the forest reserve, with a competent guide at your leisure.

Safari Blue

This is an unforgettable and full-day excursion on a traditional sailing dhow. The anchor is dropped at various beautiful and uninhabited islands, where you will go snorkelling amongst the coral reefs. Drinks are served throughout the day and lunch is a buffet of grilled fish, lobster, calamari, chicken, rice and a tasting of tropical fruits. Explore the mangrove lagoon and then be chauffeured back by our driver at sunset.

Sandbank Dinner

Sail to a deserted sandbank where you will be serenaded by musicians playing taarab, a popular genre of music, that includes songs of love and loss played on the violin and oud. When the sun goes down hundreds of silver stars are shining in the African sky, and the moon is softly glowing, low on the horizon. Flowers adorn the tables where you will enjoy the succulent seafood barbecue and aromatic pilau. To end the evening you´ll be treated to a selection of tropical fruits, as you listen to the waves lapping against the shore and watch the lights of Stone Town glimmer in the distance.
